SCREEN PRINT FAQ’s

What are your Screen Print Artwork Guidelines?

• Artwork should be Vector Art (.EPS, .AI, .AI PDF, .SVG).
• Fonts and Text should be converted to Outlines/Expanded.
(If fonts cannot be outlined, please send font names and
permission to match fonts as closely as possible if your fonts are unavailable to us.)
• Artwork should not contain Clipping Masks.
• All colors should be Pantone Solid Coated (PMS) not CMYK or RGB.
(Please send PMS color names or permission to match.)
• Artwork should not contain Transparencies or Blending Modes.
• Please specify Size and Placement of art on garment for printing.

I don’t have access to vectored artwork, what do I do?

For most designs, our in house artists can recreate your artwork for $30 per hour with a 1 hour minimum. We can not guarantee all artwork is able to be recreated exactly.

My customer needs an order with both youth and adult shirts. What is the best way to proceed?

In order to print on both youth and adult shirts with the same screen, your customer will need to agree on a compromised print size that will fit all sizes. If your customer wishes to use two different sized prints, your order will be split and treated as two separate orders. If the order is split you must have at least 24 pieces of each adult and youth.

Can you print using specialty inks?

We have specialty inks including soft feel, metallic, sparkle, puff and suede. Printing with any specialty ink will incur a 20% specialty ink upcharge.

What is your typical production schedule?

In screen print, we ask for 5-7 business days as standard production time. Your production time starts when we have APPROVAL of the design and ALL goods are here. The day your goods or approval arrives does not count as a production date.

How do you ensure that you get my order right?

Job approval forms are sent for every order and we ask that you review all of the information, sign and return to us before 4:00p.m. on the day they are sent. The forms must be reviewed and returned before your order will be sent to production. Any delay in signing and returning will result in a delay in producing your order.

Can I get a rush order?

We offer rush services to accommodate our customer’s needs. We do have cut off times for rush orders for your convenience. Same day rush service is only available by contacting you customer service representative by 12:00p.m. EST the day BEFORE the order needs to ship. 1-day rush service deadline is 12:00p.m. EST. 2-day rush service deadline is 2:00p.m. EST. Rush services may not always be available so please check with your customer service representative.

I would like to use your stock program for an order. Can I purchase tees, hoodies and long sleeve shirts to reach my desired order quantity?

You can mix and match garments from our stock program to reach a desired quantity, as long as the imprint remains the same.

I need polos printed and shipped to my customer. Since you do not have polos in stock, can I still get stock program pricing?

In order to qualify for our stock program pricing and free shipping, you must purchase your goods from our Fruit of the Loom/Jerzees in-house stock.

My customer wants red tees, but require a specific brand and style. Can I still send you shirts to be printed?

You can drop ship garments to us, but your printing cost will come from our standard contract price sheet and standard shipping rates will apply. SanMar, S&S Activewear and alphaBroder all drop ship to our warehouse for free!

It’s Monday and I need shirts by Friday. Can you help me?

Our turn around is 5-7 business days from receiving ALL goods and art approval. We do offer rush services that will upcharge your printing price anywhere from 10%-40% depending on the required ship date.

What process of screen print does your factory use?

5B’s offers spot color printing only. Currently we are not capable of 4 Color Process, Direct to Garment or Sublimation. We are able to recreate simulated process in some cases. If you are unsure about your artwork, send it to one of our customer service representatives and they will help determine if we are able to print or not.

EMBROIDERY FAQ’s

What are your Digitizing Procedures?

Our Standard Digitizing is 3 business days. We have a 12:00pm EST cut off time to receive artwork, therefore if it is received after noon, it is technically 4 business days. The 12:00pm EST cut off applies to rush digitizing orders as well. We normally scan and e-mail swatches, but if you would prefer one be shipped to you, please let us know. If you send us a digitized file we will still sew one out for your approval. If we receive a file before noon you will see a sew out the next day. If it is received after noon you will see a sew out in 2 days.

Do you offer any personalization?

5B’s offers personalization in embroidery, but not screen print. In embroidery, this will add to your standard production time. For quantities of 100 pieces or less, the additional production time will be 5 working days. On orders over 100 pieces, please call for a current production schedule time. *There is no rush service available on personalization.

Can I get a sample of your sewing?

We will sew out samples on your garment if requested. This will take 3 business days AFTER your goods arrive.
